The fourth largest city in Vietnam, Can Tho is the leading city of the Mekong Delta. As an urban hub for the delta’s farming and fishing communities, the city retains a warm traditional river culture, with the Mekong River continuing to play an important role in daily life. Locally, the Mekong Delta is known as the ‘Nine Dragons’, referring to the nine branches of the Mekong River that flow through the region, fertilising the land before emptying into the Vietnamese sea.

Azerai is located on Au Islet, a 21-hectare conservation area in the middle of the Hau River. The islet is home to mangroves and banyan trees, both part of the Mekong Delta ecosystem. Can Tho Bridge, the longest in Southeast Asia, spans the waterway in a northeasterly direction, creating a dramatic backdrop. Ninh Kieu Wharf and the Hau River hug the remaining riverbank. Although only 1 km from the city center, the island’s natural beauty and tranquility provide a striking contrast to the hustle and bustle of Can Tho city.

Azerai is a new story and brand of hotel chain offering guests simple luxury, sophisticated design, discreet and attentive service in locations of unique beauty and cultural diversity. Azerai is specifically built for today’s experienced travelers: individuals, couples and families seeking distinction, quality and comfort at affordable prices. The name Azerai is a nod to the Persian word caravanserai, or a central courtyard, a resting place for travelers. The launch of Azerai in Can Tho marks the first of the chain’s projects in Vietnam.
