Within the framework of the Vietnam - Singapore Business Forum 2018 chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held in Singapore recently,Mr. Nguyen Van Cao - Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee awarded the casino business license of Laguna Lang Co project to Mr. Ho Kwon Ping - Senior Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings Group.
Laguna Lang Co is part of the Laguna branded resort complex, built and managed by the Banyan Tree Group, which also includes Laguna Bintan in Indonesia and Laguna Phuket, the group's first branded resort in Thailand.
“In conjunction with Laguna Lang Co’s 5th anniversary, the casino licensing is seen as a great start to our second phase of development,” said Mr. Ho Kwon Ping. “Many hotel investors and development funds have been waiting for the license and selection of a casino operator before deciding to invest in our second phase.”
This is the first casino license granted by the government in the last 10 years. Laguna Lang Co welcomes world-class casino operators and investment partners to join the exciting second phase of development of this resort complex in the Central region.
Known for its sustainable activities towards the environment, local community and the economy of Thua Thien Hue province, Laguna Lang Co – the first luxury resort project developed by Banyan Tree Holdings Group in Vietnam has received many international awards. Existing infrastructure including transportation, power and water supply systems and environmental treatment systems allow for the rapid development of phase two.
The project will continue to expand in the next development phase from 2018 to 2022 with the total investment capital adjusted from 875 million USD to 2 billion USD with a casino entertainment center to be built on the existing land.
The casino project will be integrated into the overall beach golf resort, which is located on the road connecting three UNESCO-recognized world cultural heritages with rich cultural, sports and entertainment experiences, promising to boost tourism in Thua Thien Hue province and attract visitors from all over the world.
