Within the framework of the Vietnam-Singapore Business Forum 2018, chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, which recently took place in Singapore.,Mr. Nguyen Van Cao, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, presented the casino business license for the Laguna Lang Co project to Mr. Ho Kwon Ping, Senior Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings.
Laguna Lăng Cô is part of the Laguna branded resort complex, built and managed by Banyan Tree Group, which includes Laguna Bintan in Indonesia and Laguna Phuket, the group's first branded resort in Thailand.
“Alongside the 5th anniversary celebration of Laguna Lăng Cô, the granting of the casino business license is seen as a good start to our second phase of development,” shared Mr. Ho Kwon Ping. “Many hotel investors and development funds have been awaiting the license and selecting a casino operator before deciding to invest in our second phase.”
This is the first casino business license granted by the government in the last 10 years. Laguna Lăng Cô welcomes world-class casino operators and investment partners to participate in the exciting second phase, further elevating the development of this resort complex in Central Vietnam.
Known for its sustainable practices focused on the environment, local communities, and the economy of Thua Thien Hue province, Laguna Lang Co – the first luxury resort project developed by Banyan Tree Holdings in Vietnam – has received numerous international awards. Existing infrastructure, including transportation, electricity and water supply systems, and environmental treatment systems, allows for the rapid development of phase two.
The project will continue to expand in the next development phase from 2018 to 2022 with a total investment capital adjustment from US$875 million to US$2 billion, and a casino-operated entertainment center will be built on the existing land.
The casino project will be integrated into this seaside golf resort, located on the route connecting three UNESCO World Heritage sites with rich cultural, sporting, and entertainment experiences, promising to boost tourism in Thua Thien Hue province and attract tourists from around the world.
