To date, photographer Ly Hoang Long has spent nearly 30 years of his life "focusing, holding his breath, and... pressing the shutter button."
For him, photography is a language that allows him to depict the realities of life, and that has always been the central theme throughout his works. In a 2014 interview, he shared: "Through the camera's viewfinder, life is always more beautiful. When you frame the shot, hold your breath, and press the shutter button, the photograph itself will tell its story."
Photographer Ly Hoang Long lives and works in Da Lat City.
With the photo setFraming lifeCompleted at the end of 2021, besides his inseparable camera equipment, this time he brought along an old picture frame, wandered all over Da Lat, set up the frame, prepared the camera, and… waited. "It felt much more interesting when I was there."frame in frame"Life" - Ly Hoang Long shared on his personal page.

"Framing a painting or photograph enhances its aesthetic value, so the function of the frame always has a positive meaning. Photography is the same; everything is always more beautiful and poetic through the tiny viewfinder of a camera. Spotting a subject – focusing – holding your breath – and shooting, that's always the most captivating moment!"
"Ignoring ingrained habits of taking precise, meticulous photos with thorough post-processing, I opted for a wide angle and disregarded basic compositional rules, simply framing the shot and pressing the shutter button."

“The people in the photos, from Ngoc Binh (the balloon) in the square to Ms. Do (the tofu seller) at Cam Ly waterfall…, after a moment of surprise, they all became very open and friendly, sharing stories about life and people with me… How strangely close they felt! For me, that’s all I need!”

Speaking to Travellive, photographer Ly Hoang Long said that his favorite subjects are festivals or activities/events that are rich in tradition, culture, and religion... As for this photo series...Framing lifeHe just needs a busy space (street, corner, etc.) with lots of activity and people passing by, then choose a location to place the frame, and then wait.
"Images convey to the viewer what the author thinks, sees, and feels from a personal perspective. With this series of photos, I want to introduce diverse viewpoints and allow people to form their own opinions based on what they see."
