The 2019 Korean Tourism Awards Ceremony took place on December 12, 2019 at the Melia Hanoi Hotel to celebrate a successful year of tourism exchange activities between Vietnam and Korea. The awards include the following categories: Strategic Partner, Creative Partner, Impressive Partner, Outstanding Journalist, Special Award for Korean Senior Travel Consultant; and to honor outstanding partners.
“2019 was a successful year for the Vietnamese market in terms of Korean tourism. With a stable growth rate, Vietnam affirmed its position as one of the 10 important markets with the highest number of visitors to Korea,” said Mr. Park Jong Sun, Chief Representative of the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam.

As of September 2019, the number of Korean tourists to Vietnam has reached more than 3.1 million - an increase of about 22.5% over the same period in 2018 and is the second most important market, after China, for Vietnamese tourism. On the other hand, as of the end of November 2019, the number of Vietnamese tourists to Korea has reached more than 521 thousand, an increase of about 21.9% over the same period in 2018 and continues to maintain its position as a market with stable growth in the number of visitors of Korean tourism.

In addition to the strong growth in the number of visitors, the number of new quality tourism products is also constantly being introduced to Vietnamese tourists. The promotional campaign for the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter organized by KTO in Vietnam has received great response and launched more than 100 new tourism products. Many new experiences have been brought to Vietnamese tourists such as: attending seasonal festivals, experiencing skiing at resorts, exploring the filming set of famous TV series, traditional markets, family destinations, resort destinations, ....
In particular, in September and November 2019, KTO coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea to organize "Vietnam Welcome Week 2019" with many support and promotional activities aimed at Vietnamese tourists at famous tourist destinations in Korea. In addition, there is also very practical support such as: arranging Vietnamese-speaking staff at the immigration control area at Incheon International Airport; operating special tourist information counters for Vietnamese tourists at some airports in Korea or giving welcome gifts to Vietnamese tourists.

KTO also cooperated with VTV1 and VTV3 channels - Vietnam Television to promote more widely independent tourism, medical tourism and traditional market experience tourism to a large number of Vietnamese tourists. Especially in the field of incentive tourism, in 2019, KTO supported more than 71,000 Vietnamese tourists to Korea, an increase of 16.61% compared to 2019 and ranked No. 1 among 32 markets implementing support policies for incentive tourism groups.
