During this series of events, Daegu City and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province actively promoted the "Daegu-Gyeongbuk Tourism Year 2020" project to increase tourist attraction to the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region. In addition, this program also served as a launching pad for collaborative promotional projects aimed at attracting even more tourists from the Southeast Asian market.

A series of promotional events, centered around the "Daegu-Gyeongbuk Tourism Roadshow," was held at the outdoor stage of the Youth Cultural Center on May 21st. The Roadshow kicked off with a vibrant performance by D-Crunch, a newly debuted K-Pop group from South Korea, followed by a series of exciting activities such as a "Daegu-Gyeongbuk Tourism Quiz," a "Meet and Greet with D-Crunch Fans," and a hands-on experience of "Writing Korean Names on Traditional Fans"...

Notably, the program also featured the presence of Mr. Kwon Young Jin - Mayor of Daegu City and Mr. Yoon Jong Jin - Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, who directly interacted with and introduced the tourism potential of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region to the people of Ho Chi Minh City.

Following the Roadshow, the "Daegu-Gyeongbuk Tourism Introduction Seminar" was held at the Lotte Legend Saigon Hotel, with the participation of guests representing Vietnamese travel companies, airlines, and media outlets.

As part of this workshop, Daegu City and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, together with the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam, will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation with four leading Vietnamese travel companies: Vietravel, SaigonTourist, HanoiRedtours, and Fiditour. This aims to promote the development of tourism products to Daegu-Gyeongbuk, thereby attracting more tourists to the region.

In recent years, thanks to the explosion of the Korean Wave (Hallyu), the development of themed tourism products, and the diverse transformation of the tourism market, the number of Vietnamese tourists visiting South Korea in general, and the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region in particular, has been steadily increasing.

The number of Vietnamese tourists traveling to South Korea in the first four months of 2019 reached over 170,000, an increase of approximately 32% compared to the same period in 2018. Currently, several Vietnamese and South Korean airlines are operating direct flights connecting major Vietnamese cities (Hanoi, Da Nang) with Daegu, further strengthening tourism exchanges between Vietnam and the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region in particular, and between Vietnam and South Korea in general, in the future.
