Designed by Renzo Piano, who also designed France's National Centre for Arts and Culture Pompidou, KIX resembles a boat floating on the sea. A unique aspect of its architecture is the continuous arrangement of the airport's main building with the waiting gates, offering unobstructed views throughout the airport.

Tired after a long flight, KIX offers you the 24/7 KIX Airport Lounge, complete with massage chairs, restrooms, a reading room with newspapers and comics, computers for internet access, a children's play area… There are even vending machines selling drinks, instant noodles, and snacks for those who come here late at night, when most airport restaurants are closed.

Those traveling independently can save money by taking blankets from the Info Desk and stopping by the 24-hour Lawson convenience store to relax on the armchairs.
