With its unique circular design on the blue water, the total cost of this bridge project reached nearly 255 billion VND.

Laguna Garzón is one of the world's most uniquely designed bridges, with its spectacular circular shape compelling any driver passing through to slow down and admire the beauty of Uruguay's southern coastline.

The structure, designed by architect Rafael Vinoly, was built in an area located about 160 km from the capital Montevideo. The bridge officially opened in late December 2015. Before the bridge, the only way for tourists to cross Laguna Garzón was by rudimentary ferries. People and vehicles would travel on individual small ferries to reach the other side.

Since its opening, approximately 1,000 vehicles have passed through the bridge daily. Engineers meticulously designed the structure to ensure both safe traffic flow and the enjoyment of its unique beauty. From above, the bridge appears divided into two halves, both one-way. In addition to lanes for cars, the Laguna Garzón bridge also has a dedicated pedestrian walkway.

The estimated cost of the entire project is $11 million (approximately 255 billion VND), of which $10 million is funded by a real estate development company.

Local authorities hope the new bridge will not only facilitate transportation but also become a tourist attraction. The bridge also features an observation deck and several fishing areas. It also serves as a cultural link between the Uruguayan cities of Rocha and Maldonado.
