A UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve, Cu Lao Cham comprises eight islands: Hon Lao, Hon Dai, Hon Mo, Hon Kho Me, Hon Kho Con, Hon La, Hon Tai, and Hon Ong. The largest island is the only inhabited and is made up of tropical beaches, wild rainforests, and authentic fishing villages. Diving spots around the islands include coral gardens and reefs, as well as wild rock formations and underwater mountain peaks.
This is a tourist destination with a cool climate year-round, rich flora and fauna, especially abundant seafood and swallow's nest resources. The coral reefs in the Cham Islands area are also highly valued by scientists and included in the list of protected areas.
