Experience 5-star resort in unique heritage space

10/10/2020

The Secret Con Dao will open The Secret Villa this November. This is a precious piece of heritage architecture preserved in a nearly 100-year-old French colonial villa, promising to bring classy and sophisticated experiences.

Con Dao, a land rich in history, culture and majestic nature, always hides interesting stories to discover. In the work “The Travels of Marco Polo”, this island was named Poulo Condore by the legendary Italian merchant and explorer, Marco Polo, when he and his merchant fleet stopped on their voyage from China to Italy more than 700 years ago. Today, the best-preserved island in Vietnam is also known as the homeland of turtles that travel thousands of miles across the ocean to return to breed in the very place where they were born.

The Secret Con Dao adds to the story praising the timeless beauty of Con Dao by introducing a part of the heritage architecture preserved in a nearly 100-year-old French colonial villa.

When starting the work of renovating the villa area into The Secret Villa and The Secret restaurant, in the old space with the ancient garden, overgrown grass, winding tree roots hugging the mossy wall, people found a wooden board stuck on the ground with the ornate handwriting faded over time: "The Garden of Dream". And next to it, on the typical yellow wall of the old villa, there is a beautiful vivid picture of the sunlight reflecting the shape of trees and leaves dancing innocently with the wind. All create a magical inspiration, spreading and suggesting ideas about "dream gardens" that harmonize heritage values and contemporary design, bringing visitors unique and classy resort experiences in Con Dao.
