In addition to swimming, activities on coastal parks and on the sea surface in the whole province have also returned to normal, but must ensure measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic according to regulations.
At the same time, the People's Committees of coastal districts, towns and cities shall deploy coastal observation and rescue work according to regulations; arrange forces to propagate and remind people and tourists to strictly comply with social distancing, wear masks to prevent and fight epidemics and not gather more than 30 people at coastal parks and public beaches.
From May 4, people and tourists can swim in Nha Trang beach again.
Previously, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee had temporarily suspended beach swimming activities from April 1. On April 23, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee agreed to relax some activities compared to before, but continued to prohibit beach swimming until further notice.
Due to the ban on swimming, there were very few tourists visiting Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa during the recent April 30 - May 1 holiday. Specifically, along Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong Street, the streets in the Western Quarter such as Hung Vuong, Biet Thu, Nguyen Thien Thuat... restaurants and hotels had almost no tourists.
Khanh Hoa province bans swimming from April 1 to prevent Covid-19 epidemic
If during the April 30 - May 1 holiday last year, Khanh Hoa welcomed about 150,000 overnight guests, including 105,500 domestic guests and 44,400 international guests, now according to the report of the Department of Tourism of this province, it is estimated that in April 2020, the whole province only welcomed about 1,000 tourists, equal to 0.2% compared to the same period in 2019, including 700 domestic guests and 300 international guests (arriving in Nha Trang from the end of March). Beach bathing activities and large entertainment areas in Nha Trang such as: Vinpearl Land, Hon Tam, I-resort Nha Trang, Hoa Lan Island Tourist Area and Hon Lao - Monkey Island Tourist Area, Yang Bay Tourist Park... must still be closed according to the direction of Covid-19 epidemic prevention.
By the end of April 2020, 60 accommodation establishments with nearly 13,000 rooms had temporarily suspended operations. With all countries closing their borders and Vietnam just easing social distancing, the sluggish tourism situation in Nha Trang will continue.
