Due to the ban on swimming at the beach, very few tourists visited Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa during the recent April 30th - May 1st holiday. Specifically, along Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong road, and in the Western Quarter streets such as Hung Vuong, Biet Thu, Nguyen Thien Thuat, etc., restaurants and hotels were almost completely devoid of tourists.

Tỉnh Khánh Hòa cấm tắm biển từ ngày 1/4 để phòng chống dịch Covid-19

Khanh Hoa province banned swimming at the beach from April 1st to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Last year, during the April 30th - May 1st holiday, Khanh Hoa province welcomed approximately 150,000 overnight visitors, including 105,500 domestic tourists and 44,400 international tourists. However, according to a report from the provincial Department of Tourism, the estimated number of tourists in April 2020 is only about 1,000, equivalent to 0.2% of the same period in 2019, including 700 domestic tourists and 300 international tourists (who arrived in Nha Trang from the end of March). Beach activities and major entertainment areas in Nha Trang such as Vinpearl Land, Hon Tam, I-resort Nha Trang, Hoa Lan Island Tourist Area, Hon Lao - Monkey Island Tourist Area, Yang Bay Tourist Park, etc., remain closed in accordance with Covid-19 prevention directives.

By the end of April 2020, 60 accommodation establishments with nearly 13,000 rooms had temporarily ceased operations. With many countries closing their borders and Vietnam having only recently eased social distancing measures, the sluggish tourism situation in Nha Trang is likely to continue.
