Morpheus, Macau


The general rule for hotels in Macau is: the bigger the better. And Morpheus goes even further, not only is it huge, but its quality is also proportional to its size. Located in the city of dreams on the Cotai Strip, it is one of the last design projects of architect Zaha Hadid – who passed away in 2016. Morpheus is like a swirling vortex on the skyline from another galaxy, boasting 700 rooms, a pool on the 40th floor, two skybridges, and an entire floor dedicated to the renowned Alain Ducasse food shop.
Amanyangyun, Shanghai, China



Not every hotel has the origins of Amanyangun, built on a forest of 10,000 camphor trees and an ancient village to preserve a piece of history. Aman's newest property outside Shanghai has been there for 15 years. The hotel's camphor forest and Ming and Qing Dynasty-era buildings were relocated from Jiangxi, about 435 miles away.
Designed by architect Kerry Hill, the 26 cottages have been modernized to strike a balance between the old and the new, incorporating ancient carvings, gardens, swimming pools, and natural spring pools.
Shinta Mani Wild, Cambodia



Resort designer Bill Bensley has partnered with a long list of environmentally conscious collaborators to introduce his first campground resort within a nature and wildlife reserve.
Located in Southern Cardamom National Park, between Kirirom, Bokor, and Cardamom National Park in northern Cambodia, this place has only 15 fully equipped tents with interiors evoking the feel of old-time hunters, including hand-woven items, outdoor bathrooms, and verandas overlooking the rushing river.
