During this season, each country and culture has its own special festivals, each with its own unique characteristics.

Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam and other Asian countries

Mid-Autumn Festival, or the Moon Festival, is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month in Vietnam and other East Asian and Southeast Asian countries such as China, Korea, Mongolia, and Singapore. According to Vietnamese custom, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for families to gather together, and children enjoy themselves with many special activities such as lantern parades, lion dances, and feasting. The traditional food is mooncakes.

Oktoberfest is one of the most enjoyable autumn festivals in the world. This event is a paradise for lovers of German culture and beer. Held annually from late September to early October in Munich, it's considered the largest beer festival on the planet. The festival area is vast and includes numerous beer tents.

Day of the Dead (Mexico)

Held annually on November 1st and 2nd, this autumn festival is a national holiday in Mexico. During this time, visitors can witness an explosion of color, parades, and street parties. For Mexicans, the meaning of the Day of the Dead festival is to show respect and remembrance for deceased loved ones. Families visit local cemeteries to hold candlelight vigils and set up altars at home to welcome their departed relatives back.

Loy Krathong is one of the most spectacular autumn festivals in the world. The festival takes place on the night of the full moon in the 12th lunar month of the Thai calendar. Although the festival is celebrated throughout Thailand, the most spectacular sky lantern displays occur in Chiang Mai.

Public transport also operates throughout "White Nights." This festival usually takes place in early October.
