From November 2-5, 2024, the VIETNAMCOLOR project will launch an art exhibition and bold applied designs showcasing personal style and flair through "GO & COME, GO" at Indochine House Art Gallery, 32A Nha Chung, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.
This year, the VIETNAMCOLOR project kicks off with the exhibition “GOING & COMING BACK, GOING,” an opportunity for artists to share their unique perspectives on life through their works. At the exhibition, nine artists – Nguyen Quoc Huy, Tran Nam Tuoc, Pham Tuan Ngoc, HuongColor, Trinh Bich Thuy, Pham Ngoc Anh, Doan Anh Thu, Rejane – along with two brands, The Dan and Comay Craft, present nearly 50 works of art including paintings, ceramics, fashion design, graphic art, installation art, and photography.
Fifty works of art, including paintings, ceramics, fashion design, graphic art, installations, and photography, are on display at the exhibition "GOING & COMING BACK, GOING".
HuongColor's artwork "Listen"
This is a rare occasion where contemporary Vietnamese art shines in the tranquil setting of Indochine House in the heart of Hanoi, where each artwork radiates its own unique light, drawing viewers into a world of color, story, and emotion.
Founder, curator, and artist HuongColor, with nearly 30 years of research and creativity in the fields of color, design, and art, shares the limitless potential of color and art in influencing human emotions. Color and art can create or break the boundaries of your vision, so color and creative space are crucial elements in creating artworks and designs. Through the VIETNAMCOLOR project, she aims to convey Vietnamese national culture and colors, encouraging the creation of unique colors without needing to define a specific style.

This exhibition is like a multi-dimensional painting, combining painting, ceramics, fashion, graphic design, photography, and installation art. Each work is a whisper from the artist through the material. Paper, canvas, fabric, terracotta, or watercolor – all become a vessel for emotions, a place where the artist finds themselves through unique shades of color.
Facing each artwork, the audience not only sees but also touches and feels each fold, each layer of color blending on the surface, as if hearing the story from the depths of the creator's soul. This is no longer a foreign art form, but a journey of emotion, a part of life.
Sustainable fashion design deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture.

Mr. Tran Doan Hung, founder of Comay Craft, shared more about the handcrafted bags displayed at the exhibition: "In everyday life, not many people choose handcrafted bags for work or events. Straw bags are mainly found in the summer or in tourist areas, especially in coastal cities, with rather monotonous designs, made from only one material. Therefore, I have combined many different natural materials such as water hyacinth fibers, sedge grass (in purple and green tones), and a little bit of materials like leather straps, fabric... to increase the aesthetic appeal, sophistication, and durability of the products."

When artists choose their materials, they are captivated by the surface of paper, canvas, clay, fabric, wood, paint, or any texture that evokes emotion and inspires creativity. Viewers take a deep breath, close their eyes, listen intuitively, then open their eyes to appreciate the colors, shapes, forms, the allure of the materials, and the artist's talent, harmonizing to create the creative story. From the moment of touch, understanding and love begin; this is invaluable for each person's journey of discovering art, a journey of "going and coming back, going."
For art lovers, this is also an opportunity to immerse themselves in emotionally rich works, where color is used as a language. These paintings not only have shades but also contain individual thoughts and feelings.
The artwork "Two Dragons Competing for the Pearl" by Pham Tuan Ngoc
Every line, every color tells a story of life, of thoughts and feelings from the artist's perspective. The ceramic works transport viewers back to the raw, rustic essence of earth and fire. The ceramic vases, broken pieces, or irregular shapes are all places where the artist's hand has touched, breathing life into every crack, every rough piece of clay. And when viewers come into contact with these fragments, they are touching a part of distant memories, of the simplest and most sincere things.
