"Listening" by HuongColor
This is a rare occasion where Vietnamese contemporary art shines in the quiet space of Indochine House in the heart of Hanoi, where each work seems to radiate its own unique light, drawing viewers into a world of colors, stories and emotions.
Founder, curator, artist HuongColor with nearly 30 years of research and creation in the field of color, design and art shares the unlimited potential of color and art to influence human emotions. Color and art can create or break the limits of your vision, so color and creative space are one of the important factors to create works of art and design. Through the VIETNAMCOLOR project, she hopes to convey Vietnamese national culture and color, encouraging the creation of unique colors without positioning.

This exhibition is like a multidimensional picture, combining painting, ceramics, fashion, graphics, photography, and installation art. Each work is a whisper of the artist to the material. Paper, canvas, fabric, terracotta, or watercolor – all become places to express emotions, where the artist finds himself through unique colors.
Facing each work, the audience not only sees, but also touches and feels each fold, each layer of color blending on the surface, as if hearing the story from the depths of the creator's soul. This is no longer a strange art, but a journey of emotions, a part of life.

Mr. Tran Doan Hung, founder of Comay Craft, shared more about the handmade handbags displayed at the exhibition: "In daily life, not many people choose handmade handbags to use when going to work or events. Straw bags are mainly found in the summer or in tourist areas, especially in coastal cities with a rather monotonous design, made from only one material. Therefore, I have combined many different natural materials such as water hyacinth fiber, sedge (purple, green tones) and a little material such as leather, cloth... to increase the aesthetic in fashion, sophistication and durability of the product".

When artists choose materials, they are passionate about the surface of paper, canvas, earth, fabric, cloth, paint or any texture that creates emotions to create. The audience takes a deep breath, closes their eyes, listens intuitively, opens their eyes to feel the colors, shapes, blocks, the charm of the material, the artist's talent, and joins in creating a creative story. When they start touching, they will understand and then love, this is extremely valuable for each person's journey of discovering art "GO & BACK, GO".
For those who love art, this is also an opportunity to immerse themselves in emotional works, where colors are used as a language. The paintings not only have shades but also contain each thought and each feeling.

Each line, each color is a story about life, about thoughts and feelings from the artist's perspective. Ceramic works bring viewers back to the rawness and simplicity of earth and fire. Ceramic vases, broken pieces or irregular shapes are all places where the artist's hands have touched, breathing life into each crack, each piece of raw earth. And when the audience comes into contact with each piece, they seem to touch a part of the old memory, about the simplest and most sincere things.
