The French crystal brand LALIQUE recently pleased Vietnamese collectors by organizing an exhibition of two iconic collections, including a collection combining LALIQUE with the legacy of artist René Magritte, alongside creations from the Iconics Rose Nebula collection.
Under the vision of the Magritte Foundation, the mysterious and poetic world of René Magritte is recreated in crystal sculptures, displayed to the public to commemorate the 126th anniversary of the late artist's birth.
The legacy of the “two Renés”
Although René Magritte and René Lalique never met in person, they shared a profound connection artistically. René Lalique was a bold innovator who expressed his aesthetic sensibility through crystal; while Magritte invented his own artistic language through surrealist works, alongside other poets and musicians. Their unique artistic personalities have earned both Renés recognition as some of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
Although René Magritte and René Lalique never met in person, they shared a deep connection in their artistic pursuits.
To date, the bowler hat is the only work by Magritte that exists in both painted and physical form, and LALIQUE's recreation of it in natural crystal mimics the very process by which Magritte created his most famous work.
Le Bain de Cristal features a deer in a glass made of solid crystal using a lost-wax casting technique, resulting in a satin-brushed finish that blends seamlessly with the transparent crystal fragments.
Their prominence and iconic status caught the creative eye of LALIQUE, leading to their rebirth on crystal slabs.
Iconics Rose Nebula: Nebula Pink
Constantly pushing the boundaries of creativity and craftsmanship, LALIQUE breaks aesthetic standards with a new crystal color: Rose Nebula. The collection's name evokes a sense of transience and fragility, like the nebula dust of the universe, as well as the unique pink hue created by the seasoned expertise of its artisans.
The name "Rose Nebula" evokes the ethereal quality surrounding the lengthy pink plating process, giving the crystal surface a dreamy, almost otherworldly appearance.
Perfected under the supervision of master artisans, these luxurious crystal creations feature a delicate, misty sheen that coats the crystal, a blend of various metals (including gold) to create a unique and captivating pink hue.
All of them possess a mystical pink hue, meticulously crafted under the discerning eye of master crystal artisans.
Both collections are currently on display and open to the public free of charge at Tam Son Living Boutique, 17 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. Tam Son Living is the first store in the world to bring together three pioneering luxury lifestyle brands: LALIQUE, Bernardaud, and Christofle.
