After two decades of dedicated work using oil paints, artist Do Duc has created the impressive exhibition "Borderland Landscapes." With over 50 works, he has conquered the challenges of the medium to recreate the beauty of rocks and mountains. The Northwest, Viet Bac, and Dong Van Stone Plateau have always been an endless source of inspiration, expressed by the artist through paintings such as "Sunshine on the Hong Ngai Mountain Range," "Morning Mist in the Highlands," "Western Slope of Son Vi," "Legend of Khau Vai," "March in Xin Cai," and "Legend of Khau Vai"...
A land stretching for thousands of miles.

Artist Do Duc has dedicated his entire creative career to painting a panoramic picture of the majestic beauty of the northern border mountains and forests. With this exhibition, he once again affirms his deep love for his homeland through works depicting rocks, mountains, fields, highland markets, and the people of the mountainous region. Each painting bears the distinct mark of a soul intimately connected to the nature and people of this land.
With the exhibition "Borderland Landscapes," artist Do Duc acts as a storyteller, leading viewers on a journey to discover the majestic beauty of the mountains and forests and the peacefulness of the Vietnamese countryside. In addition to the exhibition opening, artist Do Duc will also officially launch his oil painting book of the same name. Published by the Fine Arts Publishing House in the third quarter of 2024, the 124-page book is a comprehensive overview of his 20-year creative journey, featuring approximately 200 outstanding oil paintings.
As part of the exhibition, a special interaction session between artist Do Duc and the public will take place on September 14, 2024. At this Art Talk, the public will not only have the opportunity to hear the artist share his creative journey but also to support the "Flowers of Stone" school building fund. Notably, the artist will auction off his oil painting "On the Hillside" (created in 2022, 60x80cm) with all proceeds going to the fund. Since 2013, artist Do Duc has partnered with the fund to build nearly 20 schools for remote villages in Ha Giang province.
The artwork "On the Hillside" will be selected for auction with a starting bid of $1500 to raise funds for building schools in mountainous areas.
Born in 1945, artist Do Duc showed early artistic talent. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Viet Bac School of Culture and Arts in 1970 and continued his studies at the Hanoi University of Fine Arts. In 1980, his woodblock print "Highland Market" helped him successfully defend his graduation thesis. This success opened the door for his work to be included in the collection of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum.
