After two decades of working hard with oil paints, artist Do Duc has created the impressive exhibition “Non nuoc bien thuy”. With more than 50 works, he has conquered the challenges of the material to recreate the beauty of rocks and mountains. The Northwest, Viet Bac and Dong Van stone plateau have always been an endless source of inspiration, expressed by the artist through paintings such as “Sunshine on Hong Ngai Range”, “Morning Mist on the High Mountain”, “Western Slope of Son Vi”, “Khau Vai Legend”, “March in Xin Cai”, “Khau Vai Legend”…

Each painting bears the mark of a soul closely attached to the nature and people here.
With the exhibition “Non nuoc bien thuy”, painter Do Duc is like a storyteller, taking viewers to explore the majestic beauty of the mountains and forests and the peace of the Vietnamese countryside. Through colorful oil paintings, he skillfully expressed his deep love for his homeland.

In addition to the opening of the exhibition, artist Do Duc will also officially launch an oil painting book of the same name. Published by Fine Arts Publishing House in the third quarter of 2024, the 124-page book is a comprehensive overview of his 20-year creative journey with about 200 outstanding oil paintings.
Within the framework of the exhibition, a special exchange between artist Do Duc and the public will take place on September 14, 2024. At this Art talk, the public will not only have the opportunity to listen to the artist share about his creative journey, but also an opportunity for everyone to support the "Flowers of Stone" School Construction Fund. Notably, the artist will auction the oil painting "On the Field" (created in 2022, size 60x80cm) so that all proceeds will be donated to the fund. Since 2013, artist Do Duc has accompanied the fund to build nearly 20 schools for the highland villages of Ha Giang.
The work “On the Field” will be selected for auction with a starting price of $1,500 to raise funds to build schools in mountainous areas.
Born in 1945, painter Do Duc showed his talent for painting early. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Viet Bac College of Culture and Arts in 1970 and continued his studies at the Hanoi University of Fine Arts. In 1980, his woodcut “Highland Market” helped him defend his graduation thesis with distinction. This success opened the door for his work to be included in the collection of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum.
