What should you keep in mind when traveling by waterbus?
There are four outbound and four return trips daily. The ferry passes through all the following docks: Bach Dang, Binh An, Thanh Da, Hiep Binh Chanh, and Linh Dong. The schedule is the same even on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
The two train departures at 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM are very popular. At these times, you'll have a better chance of capturing beautiful photos of Saigon. So, book your tickets early and choose a good seat for a perfect trip!
Additionally, the Binh An Trip round-trip service between Bach Dang Wharf (District 1) and Binh An Wharf (District 2) has been increased to meet the needs of tourists. There are 9 outbound and 9 return trips on weekdays, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, additional departure times are added: 4:00 PM, 4:30 PM, and 9:30 PM. The ship departed right on time, a few minutes after the announcement that it was ready to receive passengers.
Tickets selling out is quite common, especially on weekends. This is the busiest time, mainly for tourists. Therefore, you can book and pay for your tickets directly on the Saigon Waterbus website about a day in advance. If you have free time, you should go during the week as it will be less crowded, mostly with locals.
You should also prepare a hat, jacket, sunscreen, water, and some snacks for this waterbus exploration trip. If you explore the entire route from Bach Dang to Linh Dong, it may take about 4 hours for all activities such as traveling to the pier, buying tickets, waiting for the boat, etc.
The windows, strategically placed along both sides of the ship, allow passengers to easily enjoy the views outside.
Additionally, at Bach Dang Wharf or Binh An Wharf, while waiting for the ferry, tourists can visit the cafes within the wharf area. The cafes here are impressively designed with attractive views, so many young people visit to admire the panoramic view of the wharf and take photos for social media.
For those prone to seasickness, it's advisable to take motion sickness medication before the trip. Rest assured, the boat has many windows, is well-ventilated, and clean. Additionally, passengers on the waterbus can move around the boat and even go to the rear area to enjoy the panoramic views. If traveling by motorbike, you can park at the pier for approximately 10,000 VND. For cars, you can park in the underground parking of nearby buildings.
