On November 15, Starbucks opened the world's largest branch in the Magnificent Mile neighborhood of Chicago (USA). It is a 5-story building with an area of over 3,000 m2Roastery is a coffee shop that roasts coffee on-site. Here, customers can see the coffee production process, from the brewing stage to the finished product, and have their questions answered by baristas who are knowledgeable about the coffee industry. The experience will be pushed to the utmost, helping to increase the value of the cup of coffee when enjoyed.
Starbucks said that in Chicago there are nearly 800 Starbucks stores with more than 18,000 employees, the newly opened Chicago Roastery alone has more than 200 employees. This coffee shop is expected to become a tourist attraction. It has a very unique design that emphasizes natural light from large windows. In the middle of the store is a large steel vat containing coffee beans. Surrounding it is a curved escalator, giving customers a 360-degree view of the store.
The Chicago Roastery remains focused on coffee, with coffee and tea products, an on-site coffee roaster, and large vats of freshly roasted beans. There are three coffee bars with different brewing methods and an “Experience” coffee cart where customers can immerse themselves in the art and science of making coffee. It’s also the only location in the U.S. that sells liquid nitrogen gelato, a dessert served with coffee.
Additionally, the bar features a variety of cocktails and serves more exotic food than other Starbucks locations. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are served at the Arriviamo bar along with Chicago's signature cocktails.
Meanwhile, Chicago Roastery has partnered with Italian bakery Rocco Princi to offer guests a variety of dishes to enjoy while sipping a cup of coffee or tea, including pizzas, pastries, and other delicious desserts all freshly baked by skilled bakers.
With this new store, Starbucks has researched and tested many designs and menus to make Starbucks become a third home, after the office and home. Here, customers can meet, interact with friends and even chat with strangers.
Researchers say Starbucks has always been a famous brand in the coffee industry. From the first store opened in Seattle in 1971, Starbucks has now spread to almost every corner of the world with 24,000 stores. It is even estimated that there are two Starbucks stores at every intersection in New York: one on this corner and one on the other corner, to serve pedestrians on two different sidewalks. And the new Chicago Roastery branch will make Starbucks even bigger.
