Recently, Ms. Nguyen Lan Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOCST) of Binh Thuan province signed a document to send to accommodation establishments in the province to celebrate the 25th anniversary of building and developing Binh Thuan tourism. In particular, the document mentioned a plan to show gratitude to tourists who have shown great affection for local tourism from 1995 to present.
Specifically, according to Ms. Ngoc, the province will reserve a package tour of about two days and one night to thank domestic or international tourists who have returned to Binh Thuan the most in the period from 1995 to 2020. Based on the list of proposals from accommodation establishments for domestic and international visitors who have returned five times or more, the local tourism industry will send a letter of thanks and gratitude to each individual.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan, initial reports from accommodation establishments in the area show that the number of old guests returning to 4-star hotels and resorts accounts for about 70%, while the number of old guests returning to hotels under 4 stars is about 60%. "To determine the number of guests returning more than five times, we have to wait for a synthesis from hotels and accommodation establishments," said a representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan.
In the first 9 months of 2020, Binh Thuan welcomed about 1.9 million visitors, down 58.8% over the same period in 2019. Revenue from tourism activities was about 6,081 billion VND, down 45.9% over the same period.
