01/02/2018

On January 31, 2018, Melia Hotels International, the leading Spanish hotel group, successfully signed a management contract for 3 hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, including Meliá Saigon Central, INNSIDE Saigon Central and INNSIDE Saigon Mariamman, bringing the total number of hotel projects managed by Melia Hotels International in Vietnam to 10.

The first appearance in Ho Chi Minh City, following the success of INNSIDE HalongBay in 2017, is an affirmation of the group's development in the Vietnamese market.

Vietnam is an attractive tourist destination with spectacular economic growth, infrastructure development and convenient transportation. This is a potential market for the “bleisure” segment – business travelers combining tourism and relaxation.

“Vietnam is fast becoming a top destination for business and leisure and is part of our strategic focus for the Asia Pacific region,” said Bernardo Cabot Estarellas, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific, Melia Hotels International. “In addition to our three hotels in Hanoi, Danang and Phu Quoc, we are delighted to bring the Meliá and INNSIDE brands to Ho Chi Minh City and expand our reach in the region.”

As the leading economic and financial center of the country, Ho Chi Minh City is bustling and crowded, often chosen as the departure and ending point when coming to Vietnam. With a convenient location, only 6km from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, from the three hotels, customers can easily connect to other hotels in the same system: Meliá Danang, Sol Beach House Phu Quoc, etc.

The hotel is located in District 1, the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, a melting pot of culinary styles, shopping paradise and unique spas. This is also an area steeped in history, blending tradition and modernity, characterized by colonial architecture and characteristic alleys. The city is always full of new discoveries, with countless ancient temples, traditional markets, along with high-end shops and restaurants.

Meliá Saigon Central

Currently operating under the Amena Residence and Suites brand, the hotel will be taken over by Melia Hotels International from March this year, and will be upgraded and renamed Meliá Saigon Central in 2019. In the first phase, the hotel will open with 75 rooms and will increase to 159 rooms when officially operating. With its location on the banks of the Saigon River, guests can visit famous tourist destinations in Ho Chi Minh City such as the City Theater, Independence Palace, Saigon Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, etc.

Meliá Saigon Central will offer rich culinary experiences, perfect MICE services as well as the premium floor area The Level, a feature of the Melia brand. Amidst the dynamic and modern lifestyle, this is an ideal stopover for both business and leisure guests when visiting the city named after Uncle Ho.

INNSIDE Saigon Central and INNSIDE Saigon Mariamman

INNSIDE Saigon Central Hotel will open in 2018. Next, INNSIDE Saigon Mariamman, formerly Lavender Boutique Hotel, will be upgraded to new standards and will open in 2020. Both hotels are located in economic centers with bustling shopping and entertainment venues.

The target customer group of the INNSIDE brand is 'worktripping' people who combine travel with business. Choosing INNSIDE, with 115 rooms and a meeting room system at INNSIDE Saigon Central and INNSIDE Saigon Mariamman with 72 rooms and a bar on the top floor, customers will be provided with thoughtful and convenient amenities, along with professional and highly flexible services to help achieve maximum results in work as well as the most entertaining and relaxing moments during their stay.

With three new hotels in the Vietnamese market, Melia Hotels International will continue to set standards in service quality with a unique Spanish cultural touch, meeting the growing needs of the most demanding customers.

In 2018, Meliá Hotels International maintained strong growth momentum in Asia, with 20 hotels in operation and 27 projects under development, and will double its total number of hotels in the region by 2020.
