Cuyahoga Valley - Rural tranquility in the heart of vibrant Ohio

17/06/2014

Located south of Cleveland, Ohio, Cuyahoga Valley National Park was established as a National Recreation Area in 1974.

In 2000, the site was designated a national park. Unlike other national parks, the Cuyahoga Valley retains rural scenery in an urban setting.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park preserves and enhances the rural landscape along the Cuyahoga River between Akron and Cleveland in Northeast Ohio. Covering approximately 20,000 acres, it is Ohio’s only national park. Cuyahoga means “crooked river” in the Mohawk language of Native Americans.

Tourists who come here often spend time walking or cycling on the beautiful trails in the park.
