In an announcement over the weekend, representatives of Bran Castle, in Transylvania, central Romania, said that tourists visiting on weekends in May can get the Pfizer/BionTech Covid-19 vaccine for free without an appointment.
“All those vaccinated will receive a ‘Bran Castle vaccination certificate,’ and those who decide to visit the castle will be able to see the exhibition of medieval torture instruments at no additional cost,” the castle said. People can even get vaccinated for free without entering the castle if they want.

Completed in 1388, located outside the city of Brasov, Bran Castle is known as the residence of Count Dracula, the main character in the novel of the same name published by Irish writer Bram Stoker in 1897.
Although Bran Castle has long been rumored to be home to vampires, information on the castle's website also confirms that vampires do not exist. "People visiting Bran Castle should distinguish between the historical reality of the castle and the character of the Count in Bram Stoker's novel. Vampires exist only in the imagination," wrote a representative of Bran Castle.
Romania has now recorded more than one million cases and more than 29,000 deaths from the coronavirus. According to a survey by research organization Globsec in April, Romanians and Bulgarians are the least likely to be vaccinated among those surveyed in 10 Central and Eastern European countries.
