Vietnam Airlines is offering a promotion with domestic flights at a flat rate of 99,000 VND.

26/04/2020

Recently, Vietnam Airlines (VNA) launched a flat-rate flight program of VND 99,000 per one-way trip for all domestic routes to stimulate passenger travel.

Given the well-controlled Covid-19 situation in Vietnam and to meet passenger travel needs, Vietnam Airlines (VNA) has launched a flat-rate flight program at VND 99,000/one-way (including taxes and fees, the total is VND 579,000/one-way) for all domestic routes.

Accordingly, the program applies to tickets purchased on the VNA website or mobile app from April 24 to 30, with travel dates between September 6, 2020 and February 21, 2021, subject to conditions regarding refunds, ticket changes, and departure dates.

On April 23rd, Vietnam Airlines Group (including VNA, Jetstar Pacific, and VASCO) announced an increase in domestic flights. Specifically, from April 25th to 30th, VNA will operate 6 flights per day between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; and 2 flights per day per route between Da Nang and Hanoi, and Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. For the remaining routes, VNA will gradually expand operations and resume flights at different rates on each route. Specifically, the airline will resume one flight per day on routes between Hanoi and Da Lat, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc; and between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Hue, Da Lat, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc. Other routes will resume with a frequency of 3-4 flights per week, including those between Hanoi and Can Tho, Tuy Hoa, Quy Nhon, Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku, Hue, Vinh, and Chu Lai; and between Ho Chi Minh City and Quy Nhon, Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku, Dong Hoi, and Chu Lai.

Jetstar Pacific has also increased the frequency of flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to two flights per day. These flights are operated under a codeshare agreement as part of a "dual-brand" strategy with VNA. Passengers who purchase VNA tickets and fly on these codeshare flights operated by Jetstar Pacific will still enjoy the same services, from ground to air, as flying with Vietnam Airlines, including free checked baggage allowance and meals. Lotusmiles members will also benefit from all program policies, including mileage accumulation, rewards, and other priority privileges and benefits.

To ensure the health and safety of passengers and the community, VNA continues to disinfect its entire fleet of aircraft operating daily, while also implementing health checks for passengers at airports as regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, requiring online health declarations before flights, and refusing to transport passengers showing signs of suspected Covid-19 infection. Flight crews, including pilots and flight attendants, are equipped with masks, gloves, goggles, and alcohol-based disinfectant wipes. Passengers traveling by air during this period are required to wear masks throughout the flight.

Flight schedules during this period will be flexibly managed by airlines based on actual operating conditions. In the event that flight schedules have to be changed due to force majeure or reasons from VNA's side, passengers may be assisted in changing their flight dates or itineraries according to current regulations.

Previously, although the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority had agreed to increase the frequency of flights, especially on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route, the number remained limited to ensure effective COVID-19 prevention and control. This limited the operating capacity of airlines. This is the reason why airfares on this route have been 3-4 times more expensive than before.
