Each point consists of 3 AP (Access Point) devices with a broadcasting radius of 100 m, a maximum of 1,000 simultaneous users, a minimum access speed of 2Mbps, and a maximum access speed of 20Mbps. Accordingly, the total investment cost of the system is 687 million VND, and the monthly operating cost is 40 million VND/month. All these costs are covered by Oxalis Company. According to the Quang Binh Department of Tourism, this is a socialized activity aimed at applying technology to tourism promotion and development.
Through this free Wi-Fi system, visitors to Phong Nha - Ke Bang can easily access information about tourism in Quang Binh and Vietnam. This initiative is also expected to increase connectivity between visitors and their families and friends via the Internet, thereby promoting Phong Nha as a tourist destination more widely.
According to the Quang Binh Department of Tourism, in the near future, Oxalis Company will continue to cooperate with the Department of Tourism to promote this wifi system and provide free wifi service on daily shuttle buses transporting tourists on the Hanoi - Phong Nha and Hoi An routes.
In 2018, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park received nearly 865,600 visitors, an increase of over 14% compared to the previous year. Of these, international visitors accounted for nearly 20%. Total revenue reached over 269 billion VND (an increase of 24%).
