On February 2, the People's Committee of Da Lat City issued a decision to impose an administrative fine in the tourism sector on a 57-year-old businesswoman (Director of Dream Flower Hotel Company Limited) for discriminating against tourists (VND 4 million) and not notifying before starting operations as prescribed (VND 4 million).
According to verified information, during the Lunar New Year, a female tourist from Binh Thuan booked a room and paid. However, when she arrived, the hotel owner refused to accept her with discriminatory and insulting words because she was a Vietnamese of Chinese origin. The female tourist recorded a video and posted it on social media to complain.
The hotel is located in Ward 3, Da Lat City. In addition to accommodation services, there is also a large cafe and a photo spot for visitors.
Upon receiving the above information, the interdisciplinary inspection team of Da Lat City went to Dream Flower Hotel, Ward 3, made a record of administrative violations in the field of tourism with the female manager of this hotel and contacted the female tourist to apologize.
According to Mr. Le Anh Kiet, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Da Lat City, the city has long announced a hotline number to receive feedback from tourists and local people about violations in tourism activities.
"All feedback via the hotline is verified and processed quickly to protect tourists' rights and at the same time correct violations and deviations of tourism service businesses and individuals," said Mr. Kiet.
Mr. Kiet also added that Dream Flower Hotel only officially opened in December 2022 and did not notify. The behavior of Dream Flower Hotel is incorrect, negatively affecting tourism in Da Lat city, not in accordance with the style of Da Lat people as well as the regulations in the Code of Conduct for Da Lat people.
