With unique and creative designs, these swimming pools offer visitors an unforgettable experience while floating on the ocean.

 

1. MSC Divina

US News and World Report ranked MSC Divina as the top ship among MSC's 12 ships. Launched in May 2012, MSC Divina is not only the largest ship on the line, but also the most luxurious. Passengers can experience a Formula 1 simulator, a 4D cinema and the exclusive MSC Yacht Club.

However, one of the most popular 5-star entertainment spots here is the Garden Pool. The pool is designed with lots of trees and sculptures along with a multi-level resting area.

2. Norwegian Epic

Travel Weekly magazine voted Norwegian Epic “best cruise ship” in 2011 and 2012.

Norwegian Epic is known for its family-friendly innovations, especially the Aqua Park. This water park includes two swimming pools, five hot tubs, a wave pool and a children's area. However, the highlight of the Norwegian Epic is the epic 60m Epic Plunge waterslide.

3. Marina and Riviera

Oceania Cruises operates two mid-sized ships, Marina and Riviera. Each luxury ship has a stunning pool area that combines a Balinese Tiki bar with a multi-level sundeck.

In addition, the Tiki bar also has a fountain and a large screen TV. When the sun sets, the lighting effects here create a shimmering beauty on the ocean.

4. Brilliance of the Seas

Royal Caribbean's Brilliance of the Seas cruise ship features a complex of six swimming pools and jacuzzis.

The swimming pool is designed with a glass roof and decorated with lots of plants around.

5. Royal Princess and Regal Princess

Princess Cruises introduced its “Movies Under the Stars” poolside cinemas in 2004. They are a feature on all of its ships, with Royal Princess and Regal Princess having the largest screens.

The Times Square-sized LED screen here is over 90 square meters wide and combined with a 69,000 watt sound system.

6. Viking Cruises

Founded in 2013, Viking Cruises operates three cruise ships that cruise through Scandinavia, the Baltic Sea, and the western and eastern Mediterranean in 2015 and 2016. The company's ships, Viking Star, Viking Sky, and Viking Sea, all feature infinity pools, a rarity in the industry.

Viking cruise ships' infinity pools are located at the rear of the ship and are made of glass, giving the illusion that the water stretches to the horizon.

7. Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas

The luxury cruise ships Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas feature 18-foot kidney-shaped pools. These are the deepest cruise ship pools in the world, surrounded by a sunbathing area with plush seating. When the sun goes down, the entire sunbathing area is transformed into an AquaTheater.

8. AmaWaterways

With many custom-designed cruise ships in Europe, Russia, Asia, and Africa, AmaWaterways has been an industry leader since 2002. Traditionally, its river cruise ships do not have swimming pools. However, AmaWaterways' European ships, such as AmaCerto, AmaSonata, AmaReina, AmaVista, and AmaSerena, not only have luxurious heated swimming pools, but also feature Caribbean-style bars with underwater seating.

The 164-passenger AmaCerto is AmaWaterways' first ship to feature a heated pool and lounge chairs. Launched in 2012, the ship sails between the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

9. Sun Boat III

Sun Boat III is an elegant luxury river cruise ship with a capacity of 36 guests. With a style from the 1920s and 1930s, Sun Boat III was voted one of the 100 most beautiful cruise ships in the world by Conde Nast readers. The upper deck, called “Cleopatra’s Oasis,” features a swimming pool surrounded by palm trees and flowers.

There is also an open-air bar, making it an ideal place to admire the ancient temples along the river. The Sun Boat III route stops at the temples of Hathor and Abydos, among other tourist attractions.

10. Disney Dream

The pool on the Disney Dream cruise ship is designed in the shape of Mickey Mouse and has clean, family-friendly water. Other Disney cruise ships also have pools shaped like Donald Duck and Goofy.

The Disney Dream cruise ship has a capacity of 4,000 people, launched in January 2011. It also has a 227m long slide called AquaDuck.
