London Fashion Week takes place twice a year, in February and September. Along with New York, Milan, and Paris Fashion Weeks, it is one of the four most prestigious fashion events in the world, held throughout the 12 months of the year. LFW 2019 is currently underway and has left unforgettable impressions on fashion enthusiasts worldwide.

The fashion world mourns the loss of 'king' Karl Lagerfeld.

Fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld passed away on February 19, 2019, right as LFW 2019 was taking place. All the guests and delegates present at the BFC stage, where the event was held, observed a minute of silence to commemorate the legendary designer of Chanel and Fendi, who made a significant contribution to the development of the global fashion industry.

Victoria Beckham launches a massive collection.

Victoria Beckham was formerly a member of the famous British girl group Spice Girls and the wife of football legend David Beckham. Currently, she is a businesswoman and a renowned fashion designer in the UK. At LFW 2019, Victoria Beckham launched a spectacular collection featuring stylish short-sleeved tops and puffer dresses in a mix of neutral yet bold colors. She also launched a YouTube channel showcasing her and her family's products.

Shrimps had their first show.

Shrimps is a British fashion brand founded in 2013, and this year, for the first time, Shrimps was showcased at LFW. Designer Hannah Weiland of the "two shrimp" fashion house presented a unique collection featuring silky dresses, oversized bags, seashells, and plenty of faux fur.

Promoting sustainability

The Duchess of Cornwall presented the QEII award to designer Bethany Williams.

The BFC stage prioritized sustainability this season. BBC Earth and Mother of Pearl collaborated to host a workshop and launch a flagship collection inspired by BBC Planet, created using sustainable production methods. Innovation and the application of new technologies can help us reduce the environmental impact of fashion. And to close out LFW, the Duchess of Cornwall awarded the QEII (Queen Elizabeth II Award) to designer Bethany Williams, who used recycled materials in her collection.

Roksanda, Erdem, and Rejina Pyo make us dream.

Some of the fashion world's favorite designers truly reached the pinnacle of sweet, dreamy fusion of fashion, fantasy, and femininity: there were the golden feathered gowns at Roksanda; the pointed collars, intricate embroidery, and floral details at Erdem; and the stunning, distinct color palettes at Rejina. All contributed to the overall success of London Fashion Week 2019.

For the Studio 54-inspired collection, Rixo chose Cafe de Paris as the venue, where models and drag queens performed on the disco dance floor, wearing sequin dresses and vintage-printed outfits. It all created an exciting and fun show.

Models like Olivia Palermo and Amber Le Bon helped Aspinal's design director Giles Deacon and creative director Mariya Dykalo launch a new collection that impressed audiences, especially the British, with quintessential motifs from the UK such as guards and guard dogs.

Adidas Originals enters the LFW arena.

Adidas Originals launched its collection with New York designer Ji Won Choi at Hawley Wharf – a previously unused location in underground Camden. Ji Won Choi played a significant role in reimagining Adidas' design identity.
