On December 16th, at the "Talinpa Talent Incubator" in Tuan Chau Island District (Quang Ninh), Talinpa Joint Stock Company and designer Xuan Thu will officially launch the Talinpa F Mathematics and Fashion Club (short for Talinpa Fashion).
At the "Mathematics in Fashion Design" seminar held earlier, designer Xuan Thu realized that incorporating algorithms into design makes developing ideas easier. "And especially, the design story becomes my own, without needing to borrow or imitate from anywhere. The fashion design industry in Vietnam is still new, with many graduates lacking experience. If you study design and understand techniques explained from a mathematical origin, it will be much better," designer Xuan Thu said.

She was inspired by mathematical knowledge, patterns that could come from basic flat shapes like triangles and rectangles, golden ratios that mimic all sustainable architecture, or the laws of transformation in countless ways.

In particular, when talking to mathematicians and educators, she felt that she could "breathe life" of mathematics into fashion to create aesthetically exquisite products that could further inspire people's artistic creativity.
Notably, this initiative also received support from Professor Ngo Bao Chau and his mother, Ms. Tran Luu Van Hien. “Chau said that if we can do something for the younger generation, we should strive to do it, and the Talent Incubator is like a multi-purpose incubator, meaning it provides a playground not only for mathematics but also for music, architecture, fashion, and more. Perhaps participating in such activities will make children more interested than just sitting and studying. The more passion they have for learning, the more decent people they will become, and the more they will discover their own talents. When I heard Xuan Thu's idea, I thought it wouldn't be easy, but I believe that with the support of mathematicians, it will become a reality,” Ms. Tran Luu Van Hien shared.

During the seminar, designer Xuan Thu also showcased several ao dai designs featuring patterns derived from geometric shapes and calculations.
