VIFW 2016 soared with the opening collection by designer Nguyen Cong Tri.

The opening night of Vietnam's biggest fashion event took place at 8 PM on November 2nd at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, with the participation of prestigious guests from Hanoi, leading businesspeople, and big stars from the entertainment industry. Immediately after the Red Lute band immersed the audience in melodious tunes, Ngoc Chau, the winner of Vietnam's Next Top Model Season 7, lit up the stage as the opening model for Vietnam International Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2016, showcasing a design that perfectly embodied the spirit of "Future Now".

Designer Nguyen Cong Tri continued to open the Vietnam International Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2016. Runner-up of Vietnam's Next Top Model 2016, La Thanh Thanh, in a figure-hugging outfit that seemed to blacken the entire auditorium with its fringed material and the words "Break the rules," captivated all the photographers' attention. The 1.54m tall model gracefully walked the catwalk as the first-face of the collection titled "The Girl of the Stranger and Me."

What was special about designer Nguyen Cong Tri's collection was that, besides La Thanh Thanh, Kim Nhung, and supermodel Thanh Hang, all the other models were foreign. In classic-inspired outfits with delicate embellishments and colorful patterns, these exquisite designs brought back memories for fashion enthusiasts in Hanoi of Nguyen Cong Tri from 10 years ago, when he was a newcomer to the fashion industry, a designer who worked without any rules. Elegant and sophisticated ladies and gentlemen, with their regal Western style yet undeniably fashionable and alluring, gracefully strode across the runway at Vietnam International Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2016 to the exciting music and radiant lights. To the music, sometimes melodious, sometimes intense, the models seemed to be walking in a luxurious and elegant space with a natural and relaxed demeanor.

When the bell rang, the muse and star Thanh Hằng appeared in a seductive pink bodysuit, hinting at the latest trends. Wearing a long, yet equally fashionable, coat over it, supermodel Thanh Hằng caused a sensation in the entire auditorium. The famous 1.12-meter-long legs of Vietnam's top supermodel were perfectly showcased by designer Công Trí.

With each step of the professional models, designer Cong Tri's designs seemed to shine throughout the auditorium of the National Convention Center in Hanoi. Witnessing these works of art for the first time in the atmosphere of an international-level fashion week, thousands of spectators marveled and couldn't take their eyes off the catwalk with its lights and perfect outfits. It had been a long time since the Vietnamese fashion industry had been able to admire a collection that could inspire such pride and admiration from the public.
