This year's flowering season, starting from early weekend mornings, tourists began flocking to Ba Vi National Park, creating a bustling atmosphere while still providing enough private space for everyone to enjoy the beauty of nature.
The road to Ba Vi is ablaze with the golden color of wild sunflowers in full bloom.
Nguyen Tien Anh (25 years old), the photographer behind the wild sunflower photos, shared: “Every year, wild sunflowers usually bloom from the end of October to the end of November. The beginning of November is the most beautiful time, when the flowers are in full bloom, yellow and at their largest. Going early also helps avoid crowds, because the peak season is from November 15th to 25th in Ba Vi, which attracts a lot of tourists. Thanks to that, I was able to take many beautiful photos without people getting in the way, and the flowers were at their biggest and most beautiful.”
Tien Anh is looking for a spot to take photos with wild sunflowers on the way up Ba Vi mountain.
Along the more than 12-kilometer stretch from the national park entrance up to an altitude of 400-600 meters, wild sunflowers grow densely, forming vibrant yellow strips that hug the mountain slopes. Some bushes are nearly a meter tall, blooming in large clusters, making the entire area seem to be bathed in gold. Interspersed among them are lush green pine forests, the air is cool, and a layer of dew still clings to the leaves, all creating a rare scene in Northern Vietnam. The gentle early winter light, combined with the yellow of the flowers and the green of the pine forest, creates vivid and profound images.

Ba Vi is not only a place to admire flowers, but also a place for tourists to experience the feeling of being one with nature. According to Mr. Tien Anh, to have a complete wild sunflower hunting trip, tourists should leave early, around 4-6 am, to avoid peak hours.
Having grown up in Ba Vi, Tien Anh shared his feelings upon witnessing the mountains and forests covered in gold: “My first feeling was joy and excitement; another season of wild sunflowers has arrived. The blooming flowers signal the change of seasons, and the weather in Ba Vi is also at its best for experiencing and connecting with nature. The golden color covers the entire mountain area, attracting all eyes, creating a dreamy, warm atmosphere like sunshine dispelling the winter chill. It attracts many tourists to admire and take pictures, creating a lively atmosphere while still maintaining a sense of peace.”
Wild sunflowers only bloom brilliantly for about a month, but each flowering season draws locals and tourists to the mountains of Ba Vi. The golden hillsides stretch along the trails, blending with the faint scent of pine trees and the morning mist, creating a natural landscape that is both poetic and vibrant.
Amidst the vibrant golden hues and gentle early winter sunshine, Ba Vi becomes an ideal destination for relaxation, photography, and enjoying the rare fresh air in Northern Vietnam. If the weather is favorable, the golden hillsides will become the perfect backdrop for any photograph, making Ba Vi in November a destination that everyone wants to visit at least once.
