On May 30th, the opening ceremony featured the match between Vietnam (Da Nang) and China, with the theme "Nature".
On June 6th, the match between France and Vietnam (Z121 Vina Pyrotech) will be held with the theme "Heritage".
On June 13th, Japan will compete against Italy on the theme of Culture; on June 20th, Germany will compete against Macau (China) on the theme of Creativity; and on June 27th, Australia and Portugal will be paired on the theme of Vision.
The final match will take place on July 11th between the two best teams, with the main theme being "Connecting Horizons".
The "Crossroads of Unification" stage of DIFF 2026
The drama from the competing teams will be enhanced by the revolutionary stage infrastructure, considered the unsung "main character" of this year's season. The "Crossroads of Unity" stage in 2026 will be the largest in the 18-year history of DIFF, with a three-tiered design simulating a connecting bridge.
The stage, measuring 100m wide and covering nearly 1,200 m2, features five independently operating mechanical arch systems for the first time. The central lifting arch is over 40m wide, more than 10m high, and has a massive load capacity of over 10 tons.
The entire arch system can complete its raising and lowering cycle in less than 70 seconds, allowing for flexible real-time scene transitions to match the rhythm of the fireworks. The Matrix LED 3D technology, likened to a "skin of light" that is both translucent and reflective, combines with high-powered lasers and Retro Amber lights to transform the stage into a multi-layered living entity.
