In early May, Da Nang became the destination for a test drive organized by Ford Vietnam for the new versions of the Ranger, Ranger Raptor, and Everest. The program took place as the American automaker simultaneously introduced its global brand philosophy, "Ready Set Ford," which emphasizes a customer-centric approach instead of the product-centric approach of the past.

The Ford convoy traveled through various terrain conditions in Central Vietnam.

The test route was designed with various operating conditions, from coastal roads and highways to rough terrain, to verify the adaptability of each model. The Everest targets family customers who require a balance between comfort and long-distance driving capabilities, while the Ranger Wildtrak and Ranger Raptor focus on powerful driving performance and off-road capabilities.

In this upgraded generation, Ford has significantly expanded its engine options. The Ranger Wildtrak is equipped with a 3.0L V6 diesel engine, while the Ranger Raptor uses an all-new 3.0L V6 EcoBoost gasoline engine. The Everest Platinum+ makes its debut with a 2.3L EcoBoost gasoline engine for customers seeking a more premium SUV experience.

On highways, the Everest Platinum+ offers a smooth and stable driving experience. The 2.3L EcoBoost engine provides quick throttle response, while the 10-speed automatic transmission handles smoothly at medium speeds.

The separate chassis continues to be an advantage of the Everest, as the vehicle maintains stability at high speeds while minimizing vibration on rough roads. The Copilot 360 system with 360-degree cameras significantly assists in situations requiring a wide field of view.

The Everest's interior is designed for long journeys. A 12-inch infotainment screen, SYNC 4A system, 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and power-folding third-row seats help this SUV maintain its competitive edge in the large family vehicle segment.

Ranger Raptor and an emotionally charged driving experience.

While the Everest prioritizes balance, the Ranger Raptor is the centerpiece of the performance experience. On rocky and sandy terrain, this high-performance pickup truck clearly demonstrates its difference thanks to its 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine delivering 397 PS and a peak torque of 583 Nm.

The new Ford Ranger Raptor features a 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine producing 397 PS.

A notable feature is the near-instantaneous response of the turbocharger's anti-lag system. When switched to Baja mode, the car maintains high revs and sustained acceleration on mixed terrain. The new generation 2.5-inch FOX shock absorbers provide greater body stability at high speeds over bumpy surfaces.

Ford has also incorporated many technologies typically found in high-performance vehicles into the Ranger Raptor. Drivers can adjust the exhaust sound through four different modes, and customize throttle response, suspension, and steering via MyMode. The Trail Control system functions similarly to cruise control for off-road driving, assisting with throttle and braking control on challenging terrain.

Meanwhile, the Ranger Wildtrak 3.0L V6 diesel targets customers who need a pickup truck for both work and personal transportation. Its 250 PS of power and 600 Nm of torque significantly improve its towing capacity and off-road capability. The 10-speed automatic transmission combined with all-wheel drive provides a solid yet comfortable driving experience for everyday use.

Ford expands the ownership experience with its “Ready Set Ford” strategy.

Alongside product upgrades, Ford Vietnam also introduced a new service ecosystem linked to the "Ready Set Ford" philosophy. According to the American automaker, this is a global strategy to shift the focus to user experience, rather than emphasizing technical specifications or product design.

During the test drive, Ford showcased service solutions such as pick-up and delivery, mobile maintenance, fast technical support within four hours, and vehicle connectivity via the FordPass app. Users can track vehicle status, schedule services, or remotely start their vehicle using their phone.

Notably, the entire range of the new Ranger and Everest models now comes with an extended warranty of 5 years or 150,000 km. This is seen as a move to increase competitiveness in the pickup truck and SUV market, which is witnessing the emergence of many new competitors.

Through the test drive in Central Vietnam, Ford not only introduced new engine configurations but also demonstrated how the company shapes the user experience around performance, connectivity technology, and after-sales service. The Ranger, Ranger Raptor, and Everest are therefore positioned in a broader role than just a vehicle, targeting customers seeking versatility for work, family, and long trips.
