Nathan Paulin, a 27-year-old French tightrope walker, walked barefoot along a long wire that stretched from the Eiffel Tower to the Chaillot Theatre. He stopped several times along the 600-meter journey to rest, sometimes sitting, sometimes lying down, and sometimes swinging on the wire.
“It was not easy to walk 600m, I had to concentrate no matter what happened around me, it was a stressful process… but everything was still great,” he shared in an interview after completing the challenge.

He said the installation of the wire was a difficult process, because it was complicated and required permission from the authorities. However, his motivation for doing the tightrope walk “was to do something beautiful, as well as to bring a new look to the heritage, and at the same time make the heritage come alive in the eyes of everyone”.

He has done similar daredevil challenges before. On Heritage Day 2017, when French people were invited to visit places closed to the public, Nathan Paulin walked a tightrope between the Eiffel Tower and Trocadero Square. In 2019, he also walked a 150-meter-high, 510-meter-long ramp between two skyscrapers in Paris' La Defense business district.
