Nathan Paulin, a 27-year-old French tightrope walker, wore a safety harness around his waist and walked slowly barefoot along a long rope connecting the Eiffel Tower to the Chaillot Theatre. Along the 600-meter route, he stopped several times for breaks, sometimes sitting, sometimes lying down, and sometimes swinging on the rope.
"Walking 600 meters wasn't easy; I had to concentrate no matter what was happening around me. It was a stressful process… but everything was still amazing," he shared in an interview after completing the challenge.

He said that installing the rope was a difficult process because it was complex and required permission from the authorities. However, his motivation for performing the tightrope walk was "to do something beautiful, to bring a new perspective to the heritage, and to make the heritage come alive in the eyes of everyone."

He had previously undertaken many similar daring stunts. On Heritage Day in 2017, when French citizens were invited to visit places not open to the public, Nathan Paulin walked on a tightrope connecting the Eiffel Tower and Trocadero Square. In 2019, he also performed a walk on a 150-meter-high, 510-meter-long ramp between two skyscrapers in Paris's La Defense business district.
