Be amazed by the rare natural phenomenon recorded at Yosemite Falls in the national park of the same name in California (USA).

This short video, capturing the shimmering seven-color spectacle of Yosemite Falls in the sun and wind, was taken by photographer Greg Marlow from Glaicier Point in Yosemite National Park.

Initially, the photographer set up his camera system intending to capture the dazzling Yosemite Falls bathed in the morning sun. Suddenly, he noticed a red hue shimmering in the white water, and soon after, the other six colors gradually emerged, creating a breathtaking spectacle, a once-in-a-century sight.

"Miraculous is perhaps the only word that can describe this scene," Marlow told the news agency.Cater News- "The water flowing down from the high mountains is carried upwards by strong winds, creating a colorful mist. The sight is breathtaking."

Photographer Greg Marlow wanders the world capturing the most breathtaking scenes of nature, but this is the most beautiful moment he has ever captured.

Yosemite Falls consists of three tiers of waterfalls.

Upper Falls: At 440 meters high, it is one of the 20 tallest single waterfalls in the world. It flows from the bottom of the valley down to the lower valley floor.

Middle waterfall: Consists of 5 smaller tiers with a total length of 206 m, twice the length of the lower tier. The water cascading down this tier flows through narrow gorges, so it is less often recognized as a waterfall tier.

Lower Falls: The final cascade, reaching a height of 98 meters, is the most attractive part of the falls. Yosemite Creek is formed by the water from the lower falls and its flow into the nearby Merced River. This area is also dangerous due to the cascading water and high humidity, making it prone to slippery conditions.

In snowless years, the waterfall has less water and almost stops flowing altogether in late summer or fall. A few climbers take the opportunity to ascend rocky areas inaccessible to them when the waterfall is at its strongest, although this is extremely dangerous as an afternoon thunderstorm could blow them off the steep cliffs.

The lower falls are easily accessible near Yosemite Lodge in Yosemite Valley. The top of the upper falls can be reached via a steep, treacherous slope, and the middle falls are also accessible via several routes from Tioga in the north.

In Yosemite Valley lies a village of the indigenous Ahwahneechee people. The locals call Yosemite Falls "Cholock" (meaning "autumn") and believe that the lake at the foot of the falls is the spirit home of certain witches, known as Poloti.

A folk tale of the Ahwaneechee people tells of a woman who went to this lake to fetch water. That very night, as she trespassed into their territory, a strong wind swept her and her newborn child into the lake.
