According to Mr. Eric Piolle, Mayor of Grenoble, the climate in the Alps changes more than twice as much as other places, the temperature in this area has increased by 2 degrees Celsius compared to before. This is the reason why the city government and people have to take drastic action to protect the environment.
Alongside the official ceremony, the Federation of Farmers of the Isère department as well as other local organizations organized a march "for a social and popular ecology" to celebrate the event.
