Tho Chau Island is another name for Tho Chu archipelago. This is one of the most ideal tourist destinations for those who want to return to the wild nature in the West.
Tho Chau archipelago is located in Tho Chau commune, Phu Quoc district, Kien Giang province, Vietnam. It is more than 100 km from Phu Quoc city center and is an island with a military position in the southwest sea of the country.

The beautiful landscapes without any traces of human, the rustic features of the branches and blades of grass combined with the cuisine of the deserted island are the wonderful elements of Tho Chu. A wild and majestic island commune in the middle of the ocean will be the perfect choice that you should not miss when coming to Phu Quoc.
Because the island is located near the international sea route, it has an extremely important military position. Border guards are strictly deployed to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. Perhaps that is why there are not many tourist activities here. But thanks to that, Tho Chu retains its wild, simple and extremely peaceful beauty.
The fine white sand beaches, the enchanting coral reefs or the roads through the primeval forest, hugging the cliffs… will fascinate anyone from the first moment they set foot on Tho Chu.

At noon or in the evening, visitors can ask to go to the fisherman's seafood raft, in the rafts there are cobia, grouper, mantis shrimp... many other types of seafood you can buy on the raft or ask and ask the people to buy and process for you. Fishing and eating seafood, swimming at the raft is a memorable experience for the journey to Tho Chau or you can rent a boat to go squid and fish fishing for an interesting experience.
When it comes to journeys to explore the pristine islands of Kien Giang, one cannot miss the new experiences called Tho Chu Island - a paradise island at the head of the waves.
The weather in Tho Chau is divided into two distinct seasons: dry season and rainy season. According to local people, Tho Chau is most suitable from November to April of the following year. During this time, the weather is cool, the wind is calm and the sea is calm, very suitable for sightseeing. Visitors will be immersed in the majestic but peaceful scenery. Blue and quiet like a surreal landscape painting of Tho Chau.
In addition, when coming to explore the "rough gem" of Phu Quoc, visitors need to note a few things. Tho Chau Island is an important military location, so visitors need to prepare necessary documents such as a border guard residence permit when coming to the island. Some destinations will not allow visitors, so you should find out carefully before going. If you want to stay overnight, camp or organize a BBQ on the beach, you need to have the consent of the border guard management unit. Moreover, on the island, Viettel sim will not have 3G, 4G, visitors should change to Vinaphone sim or Mobilephone to access the internet when coming here.
It is often difficult to get permits for groups of more than 10 people to go to the island. Therefore, consider the number of people going carefully and pay attention to the signs and follow the regulations here.
Coming to Tho Chau, you can admire colorful corals, watch fish swimming around, enjoy hot seafood or climb the lighthouse to see the whole beautiful island.
