Afterspecial program in JulyWhile allowing travelers to check in and sit on a stationary plane at Songshan Airport, Taiwanese airline EVA Air has taken the experience to a new level: a real flight in the air. The 3-hour flight takes off from Taoyuan International Airport (Taipei), then circles in the sky before… flying back to the same airport.
As one of Taiwan's eight largest airlines, EVA Air launched a special flight on August 8th – coinciding with Father's Day in Taiwan – to help fulfill the islanders' desire to travel after a long period of travel restrictions due to Covid-19.
"The international travel market has been stagnant for more than half a year," the statement on EVA Air's website said. "People's desire to travel abroad is growing. To meet the wishes of travelers, EVA Air has decided to introduce an 'alternative travel experience' on Father's Day, August 8."

Furthermore, a highlight of this special flight was the Michelin-starred meal created by Chef Motokazu Nakamura. The flight took off at 10:30 AM on Saturday and had the flight number BR5288. In Taiwanese, 5288 sounds similar to "I love you, Dad."
