Now, with the pandemic under control in China in general and Shanghai in particular, Shanghai Disneyland, Wishing Star Park, and the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel will officially reopen next week, May 11, 2020. "We understand how much visitors are looking forward to returning to Disneyland, and our cast is thrilled to be back on the job," said Bob Chapek, CEO of the Walt Disney Company.

In particular, to prepare for this reopening, Disney will implement many new safety measures to ensure the health of visitors. Disney will require all visitors to wear masks while enjoying the attractions, except during meals. In addition, Disney Shanghai will strictly maintain temperature checks and utilize the government-issued Shanghai Health QR code – an early detection and tracking system used in China.

Disney said it will also control visitor density, limiting the number of visitors with an advanced booking and entry system, increasing disinfection and sterilization measures, and training staff on contactless interaction to minimize risks. It is known that Shanghai authorities are currently limiting the number of visitors to Shanghai Disneyland to no more than 24,000 per day.

Disneyland Shanghai will also use visitor density measurement technologies in various areas to limit crowding and reduce the number of people queuing at attractions.
