Vietnamese tourism businesses join hands to protect the environment

On January 11, 2020, 150 travel businesses participated in the famtrip "Green Journey: Tourism businesses join hands to protect the environment - Say no to plastic waste" organized by the UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club at Huong Pagoda.

The Famtrip organized by the Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club is part of the series of events "Vietnam Tourism Business Festival" with the theme "Connection - Responsibility - Solidarity - Action".

On the morning of January 11, representatives of businesses joined hands to clean up the area of ​​Duc wharf - Yen stream, Huong pagoda, demonstrating their commitment to environmental protection.

According to Mr. Truong Quoc Hung, Chairman of the Hanoi UNESCO Club, the Club's Board of Directors launched this event with the hope that tourism businesses would join together to promote and say no to plastic waste, and at the same time call on tourists to respond to this campaign during the festival season and the rest of the year.

In 2019, the UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club organized many famtrips such as the "Connecting the two banks of the Hau River" tourism survey trip Tra Vinh - Soc Trang, the US - Cuba inter-route famtrip, the Bali - Indonesia route famtrip, the Eastern Europe famtrip... The tourism survey programs were all integrated with many activities such as organizing B2B, exchanging with local businesses... In particular, the UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club coordinated to organize the program "Mekong Caravan Convergence of Colors 2019" with the participation of more than 100 businesses passing through 8 provinces of the Mekong Delta, building volunteer projects: building bridges, providing clean water, lighting up rural areas to develop infrastructure, promoting green tourism to this potential land.

After 10 years of establishment and development, Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club has become one of the largest tourism clubs in the country with the number of members up to 1,000 units.
