The Da Nang City Department of Tourism said that this unit has gone to the field and gathered information about the incident where tourists reported that the security guard at Amanda Hotel in Da Nang suddenly opened the room door while the guest was "asleep".

The Da Nang City Department of Tourism has just announced that on July 22, this unit went to the field to grasp information about the incident that tourists reported at Amanda Hotel Da Nang. After the meeting, the hotel manager signed a commitment not to disclose any private personal information of customer Th. The working group also asked the hotel to review and improve the process of welcoming and serving guests to ensure safety and professionalism.

In addition, the representative of the Working Group also called and discussed with tourist Th., informing that Amanda Hotel had admitted its mistake and committed not to disclose the customer's image to the outside. Ms. Th. accepted the apology and agreed not to continue to pursue the matter.

Ms. Th. said she felt very secure when the staff of the Da Nang City Department of Tourism directly called and informed her about the incident. "After the incident, my husband and I felt worried and uneasy. However, when the department staff contacted me, I felt more secure. The department staff were very kind and listened to the concerns of tourists, making me feel more positive about Da Nang tourism. I hope that the involvement of the authorities will help tourists not feel confused when traveling to Da Nang," Ms. Th. said. According to Ms. Th., up to this point, the hotel has not directly contacted Ms. Th.

Previously, Vo Thi Th. (Quang Ngai) and her husband and two cousins traveled to Hoi An - Da Nang for 3 days and 2 nights. On July 18, after experiencing an amusement park in Hoi An, the whole family drove back to Da Nang city, rented a room at Amanda Da Nang Hotel at a price of 400,000 VND/room/night.

At around 5:20 a.m., while she was sleeping, Ms. Th. was startled by the sound of her room door opening. Ms. Th. was half-believing, thinking she might be dreaming. She intended to call her husband, but was afraid that he was driving a long distance and needed to rest. At 8 a.m. the next morning, when checking out, Ms. Th. proactively asked the staff if anyone had entered or exited her room early that morning. "The receptionist confirmed that without her room card, no one could have entered," Ms. Th. said. However, feeling uneasy, Ms. Th. asked to check the camera.

Faced with Ms. Th.'s resolute attitude, the hotel manager checked the camera with her and confirmed that at the time Ms. Th. saw the door open, it was indeed a hotel security guard who was checking but accidentally entered Ms. Th.'s room. After the incident, the hotel manager apologized to Ms. Th. and her husband and offered not to charge her for the room. However, Ms. Th. firmly refused.

"My husband and I have a habit of 'sleeping naked'. We chose hotels instead of motels because of privacy and safety. When the security guard opened the door while the guests were sleeping, I felt very worried. I was afraid that private images of the couple might be exposed," said Ms. Th. "I asked the hotel to absolutely commit that no sensitive images of guests would be released. However, the manager only apologized. That made me feel unsatisfied and insecure," said Ms. Th.

According to Ms. Th., she felt that the hotel had many signs of lack of transparency. First, at first, the hotel staff insisted that no one had a card to enter the guest's room. Only when checking the camera did the hotel admit that the security guard "made a mistake". Second, the hotel said the security guard went to check room 804 and mistakenly went to Ms. Th.'s room (805). However, according to the camera, this person did not go to room 804 to continue checking after the mistake. "I find it even more confusing when the hotel security guard has a card to enter all the rooms and enters the room without knocking," Ms. Th. said.

After the incident, Ms. Th. left the hotel and wrote a post on social media.
