The latest Costa Venezia Genova, which has just been launched, is one of the first two cruise ships built and designed specifically for the Chinese market. Two new Costa cruise ships are scheduled for delivery in 2019 (Venezia) and 2020 (still unnamed). Both are being built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri. Each ship has a gross tonnage of 135,500 tonnes, 2,116 cabins and a passenger capacity of 4,200 (max/double - 5,260).

Costa Venezia's inaugural voyage was scheduled for March 8, 2019, sailing east from Europe to China. The 53-day "world cruise", from March 8 to April 29, was scheduled to sail from Trieste to Yokohama via the Suez Canal, Croatia, Greece, Israel (transiting the Suez Canal), Jordan, Oman, UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi), India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, China (Hong Kong), Taiwan and Japan.

The itinerary is offered to guests in three different segments: 20-day (Trieste - Dubai), 18-day (Dubai - Singapore) and 17-day (Singapore - Yokohama). The ship will be delivered in China (Shanghai) this year and will continue to operate exclusively in the Asian region.
