Mr. Nguyen Vu Linh, Director of Bach Ma National Park (Phu Loc district, Thua Thien-Hue province), said that the road leading to the summit of Bach Ma was severely damaged by landslides after the recent heavy rains.
Accordingly, from October 15-17, rainfall in the Bach Ma National Park area reached 990 mm, the highest in Thua Thien-Hue province. The heavy rain caused serious landslides on the embankment of the road from the foot of the mountain to the summit of Bach Ma on October 17.

The landslide area is approximately 55 meters long and over 50 meters deep, completely destroying the embankment structure, the road surface, and severing the entire road connecting the foot of the mountain to the summit of Bach Ma. Vehicles cannot pass through this section of road because it is extremely dangerous.
The landslide not only halted transportation of tourists by car and motorbike to the summit of this famous tourist spot, but also left a great deal of concern for Hue's tourism industry, which was preparing to reopen after the pandemic.

Mr. Nguyen Vu Linh stated that after conducting measurements, the estimated cost to repair this road is approximately 9 billion VND. This does not include the possibility of further landslides in the area in the future.
Mr. Linh also said that this weekend the garden was planning to welcome a group of tourism investors to the top of Bach Ma Mountain to survey a high-end resort project there. However, due to landslides on the road, this survey group may have to cancel their trip.
