The Vietnam National Tourism Administration has recently issued official letters No. 535/TCDL-LH and 547/TCDL-LH, advising travel businesses to reconsider organizing tours to Algeria and Sri Lanka during this period.

Amidst the instability in these two countries, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration has issued a document requesting international travel businesses to reconsider organizing tours to Algeria and Sri Lanka during this period to ensure the security and safety of tourists and minimize potential risks and losses.

Specifically, in official document No. 535/TCDL-LH, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism stated: According to information from the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria, a series of protests, marches, and strikes have recently taken place continuously in most cities of Algeria. This could have many negative consequences and the risk of conflict cannot be ruled out. Therefore, to ensure the security and safety of tourists and minimize potential risks and losses, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism requests international travel agencies to reconsider organizing tours for tourists to Algeria during this period.

Official document No. 547/TCDL-LH also stated: According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and media outlets, on April 21, 2019, a series of bomb explosions occurred at Catholic churches and hotels in Sri Lanka. The bombings resulted in hundreds of casualties, including many foreign nationals. To ensure the safety and security of tourists, international travel agencies are advised to reconsider organizing tours to Sri Lanka during this period.

Recently in Algeria, a series of protests, marches, and strikes occurred in most cities, causing many negative consequences and potentially leading to conflict. Meanwhile, in Sri Lanka, on April 21, a series of bombings targeting churches and hotels killed hundreds of people, including many foreign nationals.

Travel agencies should advise tourists currently traveling in these two countries to avoid sensitive locations and crowded areas, and to monitor warnings from local authorities. Furthermore, businesses must regularly update themselves on the situation in these two countries to develop appropriate and safe tour programs for tourists.
