Vietnam Airlines continues to expand its domestic and international flight network.

Vietnam Airlines has just announced the resumption of 7 domestic routes, including 6 routes connecting to the tourist destination of Phu Quoc. Vietjet and Bamboo Airways simultaneously opened a series of new domestic and international routes.

On March 9, Vietnam Airlines announced that it would resume 7 flight routes to meet domestic travel demand and facilitate passenger travel, including 6 routes to Phu Quoc.

Flights connecting Phu Quoc include Da Nang, Nghe An, Hai Phong, Can Tho, Da Lat, Thanh Hoa and Da Nang - Vinh. The airline started operating on March 27 with a frequency of 4 flights/week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. From June 1, these routes will increase their frequency to 7 flights/week, with the Da Nang - Vinh route operating with a frequency of 3 flights/week. Previously, the Da Nang - Phu Quoc route was operated from March 2, 2022.

Vietnam Airlines representative assessed that the resumption of 6 connecting routes between provinces and cities to Phu Quoc pearl island creates favorable conditions for domestic and international tourists to visit Phu Quoc, contributing to expanding the ability to connect tourist routes in the region.

Vietjet

Vietjet is about to launch more than 10 domestic routes in the coming months, ready to welcome passengers during the peak summer season. Regarding international routes, Vietjet Thailand (a member of Vietjet) has recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to implement marketing and promotional activities between the two sides, aiming to boost and attract tourists to Thailand, especially from the Vietnamese and Cambodian markets.

Vietjet is currently operating flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok with a frequency of up to 6 flights per week. In addition, Vietjet Thailand will also restore the Da Nang - Bangkok route from March 27, open a new connection between Bangkok and the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh from March 16, and continue to expand its flight network in the coming time.

Bamboo Airways

Bamboo Airways has opened ticket sales for a series of regular direct commercial flights connecting to Europe, including direct flights from Hanoi to Frankfurt (Germany) and Hanoi to London (UK) scheduled to depart on March 22. The initial frequency is two round trips/week/route, then gradually increased according to market demand and regulations of each country. Bamboo Airways also announced that it will expand its international flight network to 40 routes in 2022.

Establishing a regular direct flight route to Frankfurt allows Bamboo Airways to access a gateway to connect with the European region, in addition to other markets such as the Czech Republic, UK, France..., and at the same time connect Europe to countries in Asia, Southeast Asia..., with the transit point being Vietnam.

In addition, Bamboo Airways is continuing to promote the process of expanding its flight network to many economic centers of Germany such as the capital Berlin, the city of Munich... in the near future.

Currently, in addition to international flights to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has also received many requests to reopen flights from several European countries to provinces and cities in the Central region. It is expected that the number of international visitors to and from Vietnam will increase sharply in the coming period, achieving the goal of gradually recovering to the pre-Covid-19 period.
