According to the General Statistics Office, in the first two months of the year, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue are estimated at over 876,000 billion VND, an increase of 1.7% compared to the same period last year (a decrease of 0.3% if excluding price factors).

Specifically, the group of cultural and educational items increased by 12.7%; food increased by 9.0%; transportation increased by 4.3%; clothing decreased by 8.1%; and household goods, tools, and equipment decreased by 9.1%.

In February alone, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue were estimated at VND 421.8 trillion - a decrease of 7.1% compared to the previous month and an increase of 3.1% compared to the same period last year; revenue from accommodation and food services increased by 12.6% and revenue from travel and tourism increased by 39.4%.

Specifically, revenue from accommodation and food services in the first two months of the year in some localities was as follows: Bac Ninh increased by 39.6%; Khanh Hoa increased by 22.1%; Binh Dinh increased by 20.1%; Phu Yen increased by 17.5%; Hanoi increased by 12.7%; Quang Ninh increased by 7.5%; while Ho Chi Minh City decreased by 29.1%.

Tourism revenue in the first two months of the year in some localities: Khanh Hoa increased by 466.2%; Lang Son increased by 16.3%; Can Tho increased by 4.8%; Hanoi increased by 3.5%; Da Nang decreased by 2.8%; Ho Chi Minh City decreased by 19.6%.
