The 17th Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo 2023 (ITE HCMC 2023) will return for 3 days from September 7 to 9, 2023 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), 799 Nguyen Van Linh, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. With the theme "Connection, Development, Sustainability", ITE HCMC 2023 is expected to contribute breakthrough solutions to help Vietnam's tourism accelerate, develop sustainably as well as contribute to promoting the beautiful image of the country and people of Vietnam to international friends.

International visitors to Vietnam increased sharply

According to information from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in July 2023, the country welcomed more than 1.038 million international visitors, an increase of 6.5% compared to June. This is also the first month since the beginning of this year that the tourism industry welcomed over 1 million international visitors. Thus, in the first 7 months of this year, the total number of international visitors to Vietnam has reached nearly 6.6 million, equivalent to 83% of the 2023 plan.

In the first 7 months of this year, the total number of international visitors to Vietnam reached nearly 6.6 million, equivalent to 83% of the 2023 plan.

The sharp increase in the number of international visitors to Vietnam during the low season is considered a positive signal for Vietnam's tourism after the implementation of a series of policies to remove difficulties for the tourism industry in recent times. Typically, the Government issued Resolution 82 on solutions to promote rapid recovery and accelerate sustainable tourism development in May. In addition, in June, the National Assembly also passed a draft law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam, including increasing the duration of e-visas to 90 days.

In addition, it is also necessary to acknowledge the efforts and responsiveness of tourism promotion agencies across the country, tourism businesses... who have coordinated to implement many activities to attract visitors such as: organizing promotion programs, advertising in key markets, building many unique, attractive tourism products to attract visitors.

The 17th Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC 2023) will officially return with the theme: "Connection, Development, Sustainability", expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors, international buyers and exhibitors to participate in exchanges and explore breakthrough development opportunities in the new period - the period of implementing Resolution No. 82 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to accelerate recovery, accelerate effective and sustainable tourism development and Resolution No. 127 of the Government on the application of electronic visas for citizens of countries and territories; international border gates allowing foreigners to enter and exit with electronic visas.

ITE HCMC 2023 is considered an important event to promote the image of the country, people of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City to domestic and international tourists, while travel and tourism businesses can reconnect, creating better supply and demand.
