In 2017, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province revoked this project and handed it over to the Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment for management after the investor, Haco Hue Company, was no longer able to complete the project.

On September 20th, Mr. Vo Le Nhat, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City, announced that the city had approved an investment of 20 billion VND to renovate Thuy Tien Lake Park, which has been abandoned for many years, into a public park.

Accordingly, Thuy Tien Lake Park (Thien An Hill, Hue City) will undergo landscaping improvements, cleaning, and renovation of pathways and the internal electrical system.

According to Mr. Nhat, the 20 billion VND investment is only enough to renovate a portion of the entire Thuy Tien Lake Park. The renovation aims to open it up as a public park, serving the people.

Thuy Tien Lake Park – an abandoned tourist area dubbed the "spooky tourist spot" in Hue – will be renovated and transformed into a public park.

Previously, in 2017, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province issued a decision to revoke the land allocated for the Thuy Tien Lake entertainment center project and transfer it to the Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment for management after the investor, Haco Hue Company, was no longer able to complete the project.

Since then, the water park has fallen into disrepair, with its structures deteriorating. Many tourists, especially foreigners visiting Hue, have come here to take photos as a "spooky, terrifying" destination.
