Women today are more independent and in control of their freedom. Because of this, many women are gradually escaping the image of being a “housewife” and being protected and safe. If they like, they can travel alone without worrying about any limits. A survey by the website TourRadar.com has shown that most women want to have “experiences” when they travel. 65% of those who book tickets to participate in adventure trips, explore culture or nature are women.
“My generation usually takes care of their family first… Everything revolves around family, children and the family's common career. And then, I realized that I had forgotten myself, I had never lived for myself. Until that moment when I was able to travel, I realized that I had never loved myself before.” - Travel blogger Ha La La shared in Podcast Di-Dich episode 6: "What does travel bring to women?".
What interesting perspectives do women who travel alone have?
Women in modern society, especially mothers, always have to take on at least two responsibilities: in the family and in society. That is why traveling alone for women is a great way for them to find their own private corner where no one else can invade. Independent, free and less stressed, experiential travel helps women balance their busy lives.
However, beautiful photos, breathtaking scenery or check-in are not the ultimate goals when women "edit" their trips. What is important is what they have learned from the trip. When returning, each person brings with them a story to contemplate, share and grow more mature.
“For me, traveling is not just about going, exploring, taking beautiful photos, but also an experience for me to learn, contemplate and grow through the trips. I still remember last Christmas Eve, I packed my backpack and got on a bus to the Central Highlands, rented a motorbike and traveled alone there. Many events happened, changing many of my thoughts... In that moment, I learned a lesson that I cannot cry. I cannot cry here because crying does not solve anything. I need to try to go straight ahead and finally I made it through.” - Travel blogger Mavis Vi Vu Ky confided about her trip to the Central Highlands.
And there are many more stories of two female travel bloggers Ha La La and Mavis Vi Vu Ky that will be told in Podcast Di-Dich episode 6: "What does travel bring to women?".
