Accordingly, flight VJ8693 carried 114 passengers from Taipei International Airport (Taiwan) to Terminal 2 of Phu Bai International Airport (Thua Thien Hue) on the evening of August 18th.
This flight is a collaboration between Hai Van Cat International Travel Joint Stock Company, its Taiwanese partner, and Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, marking the launch of a direct route after Terminal 2 of Phu Bai International Airport officially commenced operations.
The first passengers were presented with flowers and gifts typical of Hue.
Welcoming the first passengers, representatives from the Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism, Phu Bai International Airport, Vietjet Air, and the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Tourism Association presented flowers and gifts typical of Hue. After arriving in Hue, the passengers will visit, explore, and experience tourism in Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Nam provinces during a 5-day, 6-night program.
In Thua Thien Hue province, the group will visit tourist attractions such as the Imperial Citadel, the tomb of King Khai Dinh, the tomb of King Minh Mang, Thien Mu Pagoda, etc.; experience riding a cyclo, taking a boat trip on the Perfume River, and enjoying Hue cuisine.
On this occasion, Thua Thien Hue province has implemented preferential policies for travel agencies and tourists, such as a 50% discount on entrance tickets to Hue's historical sites and arranging a performance of Hue court music to welcome tourist groups at Ngo Mon Gate - Hue Imperial Palace.

According to the Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism, the first flight from Taipei International Airport (Taiwan) to Terminal 2 of Phu Bai International Airport is a welcome sign and is expected to create a strong impetus contributing to the recovery of the Taiwanese tourist market in particular and international tourists in general for Thua Thien Hue province.
Following this flight, Hai Van Cat International Travel Joint Stock Company, in coordination with its Taiwanese partner and Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, will continue to open more flights bringing tourists from the Taiwanese market to Thua Thien Hue with a frequency of 3 flights/week from August 18th to the end of October 2023.
This is the result of the efforts of the Thua Thien Hue provincial government, the tourism industry, and related sectors, along with the coordination of Vietjet Air and travel companies, who have promoted and brought more international flights to Hue after the Phu Bai T2 International Terminal became operational.
