Accordingly, flight number VJ8693 carried 114 passengers from Taipei International Airport (Taiwan) to Passenger Terminal T2 - Phu Bai International Airport (Thua Thien Hue) on the evening of August 18.
This is a flight operated by Hai Van Cat International Travel Joint Stock Company in coordination with Taiwanese partners and Vietjet Air Joint Stock Company to open a direct flight after Passenger Terminal T2 - Phu Bai International Airport officially came into operation.
The first passengers were given flowers and typical Hue gifts.
Welcoming the first passengers, representatives of the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue, Phu Bai International Airport, Vietjet Air and the Tourism Association of Thua Thien Hue province presented flowers and typical gifts of Hue. After arriving in Hue, the passengers will visit, learn and experience tourism in the localities: Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam in the 5-day, 6-night program.
In Thua Thien Hue province, the delegation will visit tourist attractions such as: Imperial Citadel, King Khai Dinh's tomb, King Minh Mang's tomb, Thien Mu pagoda...; experience cyclo riding, cruise on the Perfume River and enjoy Hue cuisine.
On this occasion, Thua Thien Hue province has had preferential policies for travel agencies and tourists, such as 50% discount on entrance tickets to Hue relic sites, and arranging a Royal Court Music performance to welcome tourists at Ngo Mon Gate - Hue Imperial Palace.

The Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism said that the first flight from Taipei International Airport (Taiwan) to Passenger Terminal T2 - Phu Bai International Airport is a welcome signal and is expected to create a strong move to contribute to the recovery of the Taiwanese tourist market in particular and international tourists in general for Thua Thien Hue province.
After this flight, Hai Van Cat International Travel Joint Stock Company, in coordination with Taiwanese partners and Vietjet Air Joint Stock Company, will continue to open more flights to bring tourists from the Taiwanese market to Thua Thien Hue with a frequency of 3 flights/week from August 18 to the end of October 2023.
This is the result of the efforts of the authorities of Thua Thien Hue province, the tourism industry and related industries, along with the coordination of Vietjet Air and travel companies to promote and bring more international flights to Hue after the Phu Bai International Terminal T2 came into operation.
