On November 5, the event “Wines from Spain: Unique Wines from Ciudad Real” was held in Vietnam, marking the first time that the organizers of FENAVIN - the Spanish Wine Fair - introduced 12 typical wine producers from the La Mancha region. This is the first step to connect the Vietnamese wine market with producers in Spain, especially the Ciudad Real region, where many unique wines are produced. The event was attended by Mr. Miguel Ángel Valverde Menchero, President of the Ciudad Real Provincial Council and President of FENAVIN Fair, and Ms. Sonia González Martínez, Vice President of Ciudad Real Province.
Vietnam market – Strategic destination for Spanish wine
Vietnam is currently the fourth largest wine consumer market in Southeast Asia, with an estimated size of 382.2 million USD from 2024 to 2029, with an annual growth rate of 11.5% (according to Strategy Helix Group). The development of the middle class and the consumption trend of young people have created great opportunities for imported and high-end wines, including Spanish wines. Mr. Miguel Ángel Valverde Menchero commented that the Vietnamese wine market has strong competition with French, Italian, Chilean, and Australian wines, which are familiar to consumers. However, with its diversity, outstanding quality, and reasonable prices, he believes that Spanish wines will gradually dominate this market.
