Construction begins on the Vu Yen Island ecological project in Hai Phong.

Upon completion in 2020, the project will become a key economic hub, contributing to the socio-economic and tourism development of Hai Phong and surrounding areas.

The Vu Yen Island Entertainment, Housing, and Eco-Park Project, approved by the Prime Minister, covers a total area of ​​over 870 hectares across the entire island. With its unique location at the confluence of three famous rivers – the Cam, Ruot Lon, and Bach Dang rivers – the project boasts superior advantages in transportation, natural landscape, and especially a diverse ecosystem.

Leveraging this unique advantage, the project is planned entirely according to the model of an eco-tourism urban area, including the following components: a 36-hole international standard golf course; eco-villas; a complex entertainment area, an ecological park, and a 1.5 km long cable car system connecting the mainland to the island.

Specifically, the international golf course located in the center of the island will be a highlight attracting high-end tourists to Hai Phong; followed by an entertainment complex with a shopping street, food court, aquarium, water park, etc., offering modern and attractive experiences; and in the north of the island is a riverside ecological villa area.

In particular, with the goal of preserving the natural beauty and biodiversity of the island, a large ecological park is planned adjacent to the Bach Dang River. Here, in addition to friendly outdoor activity areas close to nature and green spaces for tourism, there will be separate conservation areas to enhance the quality of the landscape and raise awareness of environmental protection.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang – Vice Chairman of Vingroup Group, said: “Hai Phong is one of Vingroup Group’s key investment areas. Along with the ongoing Vincom Le Thanh Tong Shopping Mall project in Hai Phong, Phase 1 of the Vu Yen Island Project will immediately include a golf course and entertainment area to serve the needs of the people and attract tourists to Hai Phong.”

According to the plan, upon its completion in 2020, the Vu Yen Island Entertainment, Housing and Eco-park project will become an important economic center of the region, creating more jobs and contributing to the socio-economic development of Hai Phong city and surrounding areas.
